Scar & Pelvic Health OT - Helping You Achieve Your Goals

What Is Scar & Pelvic Health?

Scar Therapy

Scar therapy is a gentle, hands-on treatment that helps restore mobility, comfort, and function after surgery, injury, or trauma.

Scars — whether new or old — can affect the way your body moves and feels. They can create tightness, pulling sensations, pain, reduced range of movement, and sometimes even impact the nervous system or emotional wellbeing.

Scar therapy works by:

  • Softening tight or restricted tissue

  • Improving circulation and lymphatic flow

  • Reducing pain, sensitivity, or numbness

  • Supporting smoother movement and flexibility

  • Helping the body heal more efficiently

  • Restoring confidence and comfort in your body

It is suitable for all types of scars, including:

  • C-section

  • Hysterectomy

  • Abdominal surgery

  • Orthopaedic surgery

  • Breast surgery

  • Burns

  • Traumatic injuries

  • Keyhole/laparoscopic scars

  • Scars affecting posture, pain, or movement

Scar therapy is safe, gentle, and tailored to your needs. Many people feel relief and noticeable changes within the first session.

How These Therapies Help

Scar and pelvic health therapy can make a significant difference to everyday life.

People often report:

  • Less pain or pulling

  • Better mobility and flexibility

  • Improved pelvic floor coordination

  • Reduced bladder or bowel symptoms

  • More comfort with sex, movement, or exercise

  • Confidence returning to work, hobbies, or parenting

  • Feeling more connected and in control of their body

It’s never “too late” to seek support — even older scars and long-standing pelvic symptoms can improve.
